When he returned with a small bag of salt I decided I’d talk to him about you.
Not just to make conversation, I didn’t mind the the silence. Quite the contrary.

I chose to speak about you, because at the time that was the only topic I could discuss without having to be dishonest or extremely vague.
And since I didn’t have too many people to talk to in the first place — a condition that has not changed since — I thought I’d give it a try.
